New TF2 Update

With the new TF2 update, whenever I try to connect to the server my hl2.exe crashes. I then get that error that something didn't work and my game crashes. Anyway have any ideas? Think it might be AVG resident shield? Would you like a specific screenshot?

just hl.exe crashes or does windows crash too?
does it give you an error message? code? screen caps cant hurt :)
what if you play cs or another game. Any issues there?

sometimes antivirus can cause issues. AVG flags our inventory software as a virus at work.
cant hurt to uninstall AVG to test TF2.

up to date video driver?

I noticed that post was back from June 27th or so? I thought i've noticed Wankels on and in the Pub's since then so I wonder if he got it all worked out and he's simply been to busy playing to come back on here to read all of this? laf...
